Hello friends
I have recently aquired a very nice blender, and have been so excited to start making smoothies. Of course, I will be getting frozen fruit and almond milk to make these delicous and healthy treats. However, I hadn't got to the store yet, so I made a poor woman's smoothie that is so yummy:
Ingredents:
2 cups of Ice
20 oz can of Pineapple Chunks in Juice 1 cup of fresh spinach (trust me)
So, blend the pinnapple with Juice with the ice and spinach. Blend on ice setting. You will get a lime green smootie that serves two. The sweetness of the pineapple totally masks the taste of the spinach! Here's to you Heath.

Healthy Eating for Busy Yogis
As the world is shifting to a place of higher vibrations, so are the tuned in yogi's body and mind. At the begining of the year seers forecasted heavy energy as behind the scenes conflicting forces were battling, and a new era of understanding was on the threshold.
During this time I felt sluggish, had poor habits, and found myself too drained to keep a regular yoga practice. I suspect this had to do with the changing energies, but also my poor diet and lack of balance in my life.
As a thirty-four year old woman, this took its toll physically, and my slight Vatta frame became the heaviest it had ever been. My shift back toward health was at first influenced by vanity. Although the body is lovely and perfect in all shapes and forms, I couldn't help but feel depressed at the unhealthy state of my body.
I read that 80% of our weight has to do with our diet, which by the way I have no idea if this is true. But it prompted me to look at my diet, noticing what imbalances occured there. My number one offender was soda. This is an unhealty habit I have always clung to. There is a picture of me as a child in footie pjs drinking soda from a bottle (sorry Mom). Then I realized I was eating far too much dairy. I am a vegetarian, but found I was eating very few fruits and vegetables. So I changed the way I eat.
I start the day with oatmeal and blueberries. I have to admit I still drink coffee. Then, for lunch, I may have a spinach salad topped with trail mix and light dressing. Fruit is delicous on this as well.
To drink I have water or Yogi Tea, either cold or hot. This have Stevia in the tea bags, so no need to add sugar!
Then for dinner, I have brown rice and some beans, such as mung beans, lentils, or black beans. I then save the leftovers, and make a small batch of soup to eat for lunch the next day with these as my broth.
When my body feels hungry, I feed it. I enjoy raw fuits such as apples, peaches and pears. I buy as much organic as possible for my tight budget. These changes have helped me lose twenty pounds, and have given me vitality back. I have regained my daily yoga practice, as well as biking and a little weight lifting. The blues don't stick around like they used to, and i feel more in touch with the energies around me. Oh, and I smile a lot!
Namaste!
